About Us

FOUNDING SBRI

SBRI was a shared vision of its founders to drive transformation and innovation in clinical research in the Eastern Cape and South Africa. Our centre aims to promote research in under-resourced and underserved areas, whilst building research capacity for previously disadvantaged researchers and marginalized communities. We pride ourselves on a success story of producing a world-class research facility that is supported by its communities and collaborators in its research endeavours. Through clinical research we will transform and improve the health of our communities and uplift the communities that we serve.

SBRI’s principal investigators are supported by a team of over 50 multidisciplinary staff, and three seasoned research experienced study coordinators.

OUR COMMUNITY

Our Dynamic Community team play a vital role in recruitment and retention of our participants. Their enthusiasm, and integration into the Buffalo City Community are among their many strengths, as they maintain SBRI’s community relations. Interactions through our Community Advisory Board, Community events and creating awareness about Clinical Trials have been pivotal in our recruitment success. They are all Good Clinical Practice certified and strive for excellence in all that they do.
